Second Eye Home Design
You know something needs to change. You’re just not sure what. (Or how).
I’ll help you analyze your space, define your style, and figure out what’s worth changing — whether you’re settling in, refreshing a space, or getting your home ready for what’s next.

Includes pre-consultation prep, a 90-minute in-home consultation + your personalized game plan and Sourcebook.
Before we meet, you’ll fill me in on your home, budget, priorities, inspiration, and everything you’ve been considering through a detailed questionnaire. I’ll review it all ahead of time so we can make the most of our 90 minutes together.
After our visit, I’ll pull everything together into a personalized, visual-centric game plan with recommendations and next steps, plus the Second Eye Sourcebook: my growing collection of design principles, trusted materials and sources, favorite local shops and makers, book recommendations, local pros, and more. It’s yours to keep and come back to long after our consultation.

Thinking about selling in the next 6–12 months?
I’ll walk through your home with fresh eyes and help you figure out what’s worth changing before you list, and what’s probably not worth the time or money. We’ll look at paint, furniture, lighting, clutter, styling, and simple updates that can help your home photograph beautifully, appeal to more buyers, and put you in the best position to get top dollar when it’s time to sell.
Thoughtful, practical changes you can make while you’re still living in your home, without spending money where you don’t need to.
Pricing dependent on scope

Want me to do the hunting for you?
Tell me what your space needs, and I’ll shop with your home, style, and budget in mind.
Depending on what we’re looking for, that might mean digging through curated online importers, antique and vintage dealers, local shops and mercantiles, estate sales, Facebook Marketplace, or smaller makers and sources you may not come across on your own.
I’ll pull together pieces that feel collected and right for your home, rather than filling a room from a single retailer. Whether you’re looking for one elusive piece or need help finishing an entire space, the scope can be as small or as extensive as you need.
Available for individual pieces or more extensive redecorating projects.
Pricing dependent on scope.
I aim to keep the process as straightforward as possible. I know what it’s like to have a head full of Pinterest dreams, endless paint swatches, and a historic home that wasn’t exactly designed for modern life. My job is to help you sort through it all, get clear on what you actually want, and give you a practical way forward. Here’s how we’ll do it.
The Home Edit Process
01. Pre-Consult
Before we meet, you’ll fill out a questionnaire about your home, what’s working (and what isn’t), your style, budget, priorities, and all the ideas you’ve been kicking around. Photos, Pinterest boards and half-baked thoughts are all welcome.
02. Consult
I’ll come to your home and we’ll talk through the space together. I’ll ask questions, take notes, take photos, learn what you like and don’t like, and help you think through everything—whether we land on a simple refresh or a bigger project. Virtual consults available by request.
03. Post-Consult
After our visit, I’ll pull together personalized recommendations for your space, including ideas to consider, paint and finish direction, places to shop and source, and pros you may need to bring a more involved project to life.
We’re a good fit if—
-
I’ll help you think through furniture placement, storage, flow, and the little things that make a space easier (and prettier) to live in.
-
Not sure if your space needs a few smart changes or a bigger overhaul? I’ll help you think through what’s actually worth changing, what you can work with, and where your money will make the biggest difference.
-
Paint colors, furniture, lighting, hardware, finishes, decor and all those decisions that get overwhelming fast—but can make a huge impact.
-
I can help you understand what kind of contractor or tradesperson your project actually needs, with access to my personal list of local pros I’ve worked with.
-
I’ll help you look at your home through a buyer’s eyes and figure out what’s worth updating before you list, from paint and furniture placement to decluttering and simple cosmetic fixes. The goal is to spend smart, show your home at its best, and put you in the best position to get top dollar.
Hi! I’m Ali.
I’m not an interior designer. I’m just someone with a slightly unreasonable love for all things home.
I’ve bought, renovated, decorated, redecorated, and problem-solved my way through three homes of my own, learning a lot along the way about what makes a space feel good, function better, and actually feel like the people who live there.
And somewhere along the way, I became the person friends and family called when they needed another opinion. What color would you paint this? Does this layout make sense? Is this couch too big? Where would you look for a table like this? Do I actually need to renovate this?
I love that part. Looking at a space with fresh eyes, spotting possibilities someone might not see anymore, tracking down the right piece, and helping turn a pile of ideas into an actual plan.
Eventually, people started asking if I’d come over and help them figure out their homes, too. So, I’m finally saying: heck yeah, I can.
That’s Second Eye. A fresh perspective when you know something isn’t quite right, have too many ideas, or just want someone with a good eye to help you figure out what to do with your space.
Frequently Asked Questions
-
Think of me as your aesthetic sounding board and second set of eyes. I can help you think through how a space could look, feel, and function better, from paint colors and finishes to furniture, decor, and ideas for a future renovation. I’m here to help you get clear on the vision and what to do next.
-
I can take basic measurements when needed to help source furniture, rugs, lighting, or other pieces, but I don’t provide floor plans, technical drawings, construction documents, or measurements for fabrication or installation. Anything construction-related should always be measured and confirmed by the professional doing the work.
-
Absolutely. I can recommend paint colors, fabrics, finishes, materials, and other aesthetic details, and can help order samples so you can see them in your own space before committing. For larger projects, I can also help you narrow down the many decisions you’ll eventually make with your contractor or tradespeople.
-
No. Second Eye is a design consulting service, not a contractor or full-service interior design firm. I don’t perform or manage construction, installation, electrical, plumbing, structural work, or other trades. I can help you develop a clear direction, think through the questions you should be asking, and identify the types of professionals you’ll need to bring it to life.
-
Yes! If you’re looking for help across multiple rooms or want to think through your home as a whole, we can talk through it all at our first consultation. Larger projects are scoped and priced individually based on how much ground you’d like to cover.
